01.05.25 "Our Lives Can Reflect Invulnerability Here & Now"

The world the ego see is built upon many falsehoods which go unchallenged. Often these reflect values that we hold on to and cherish. One of the great healing aspects of *A Course In Miracles* is that it encourages us to actively question these values. "To learn this course requires willingness to question every value that you hold. Not one can be kept hidden and obscure but it will jeopardize your learning." (OrEd.Tx.24.2)

The current ego world is very preoccupied with physical health. It has largely accepted the premise that we, in our experience of bodies here, are extremely vulnerable with invisible dangers around every corner. To navigate this hidden mine field we employ the assistance of various learned and credentialed "experts." We feel that we do not have the basic skills or expertise needed to stay healthy, or even alive at all. "Sickness is a way of demonstrating that you can be hurt. It is a witness to your frailty, your vulnerability, and your extreme need to depend on external guidance." (OrEd.Tx.8.76) This cannot be true.

When ACIM talks about us being invulnerable and all powerful, people believe that this only relates to our true spiritual selves not to the experience we are having here as bodies. I reject that idea. I believe that this wanting to keep the body weak and assailable is an accepted value that needs to be questioned, and now at this beginning of the new year is a great time to question it. Why would we want this to be true?

ACIM gives us a different message about the body. "The body can become a sign of life, a promise of redemption, and a breath of immortality to those grown sick of breathing in the fetid scent of death. Let it have healing as its purpose. Then will it send forth the message it received and by its health and loveliness proclaim the truth and value that it represents. Let it receive the power to represent an endless life, forever unattacked." (OrEd.Tx.27.11) This is the body experience that I want to have in this new year. I am claiming this body experience now, and I will challenge every value which tells me that I cannot have it.

I don't care what the experts say. They have been proven wrong so often I cannot trust them anymore.
