Forest Escape Thunder Lightning Power Outage in the Ice Storm at the Homestead

In the forest escape we prepared for hours, to be sure we were okay if the ice came. The rain, sleet, ice, and snow did come, but we were surprised. In the past the ice has been about 3/8" thick on all surfaces, so we dreaded what could happen. We have not left our home, because we don't have a need to do that. The generator got used. Icy branches and trees were in the road and driveway. We are snug and cozy with the fire in the wood stove!
