Join me as I share a small part of my childhood where living a normal life was something to be imagined. After mom abandoned us under an apple tree as her way of escape from a nightmare that seemed to never end, life was more uncertain than ever. While family lived only a few short miles away, we were left at the mercy of one who was a danger to society and children. Left swallowed up in one man's warped fantasies, where one thing led to the next, he fell deeper and deeper into mental delusion and paranoia. Drastic measures were taken at every turn to seclude us from society to hide from the outside the darkness within him. After being set free as a child in an adult's body, I was left to figure life out on my own, working through the emotions of feeling unloved and uncared for. But there was One who cared. And He tried to get my attention for decades. Finally in desperation, trapped in a cycle of misery and failure, I cried out for His help. And He answered in a way I never expected. Talk about revealing Himself!! Through all my nonsense, stubbornness, and hardness of heart, God never let me go. Though steeped in sin, He did not cast me aside - though I well deserved it! I was treading dangerous ground in taking Him for granted to ride the fence of being lukewarm making allowances to remain in sin, doing things my way. He is a compassionate and understanding God! MORE than I EVER imagined. Anyone else would have walked away. It took forever for me to see how I was hurting Him being blind and calloused in sin, and selfish. I don't even want to admit how long it took me to wake up to see that He gave His ALL for me and wanted my all. While He has chased me, tried to draw me, pled with me, and tried to break through for many years, He is a gentleman. He won't force His way in. We have to ask Him in. For me, I had to hit rock bottom. It's my hope that my life story resonates with someone like myself and HOPEFULLY you won't do what I did in further subjecting myself to needless pain and suffering when I had a Savior there all along waiting to shower His UNIQUE love and peace on me! I say unique because you will never know what love is until you experience His love washing over and through you!! Trust me, you will kick yourself for waiting so long to have Him living on the inside. He is such a gift! His name is more wonderful than any other. His name is Jesus.
