Man Drives onto Busy Railroad Tracks While Fleeing Police

On January 30, 2024, officers were dispatched to arrest a suspect with warrants related to concealing and misusing weapons. They located him at a gas station, but as soon as they attempted to approach him, he began ramming their cars in an effort to escape. Even though the stop stick deployed by the officer successfully hit the passenger-side tire, the suspect managed to find a gap between the pumps and escape. What followed was a high-speed chase that was bound to end badly for the suspect. The police found him parked on the side of the road, but as soon as they got closer, he began fleeing again. He continued to flee at 65 miles per hour for 7 miles, despite one of his tires being completely destroyed. Just when the officers thought the suspect had reached a dead end with nowhere else to go, he drove onto the railroad tracks. One of the officers chased the suspect and tased him, neutralising him on the spot. Shortly after, medics were called as he appeared unresponsive. The man was charged with Obstructing official business, Failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, Resisting arrest and felonious assault.
