Emotional support robot helps combat isolation and depression

An emotional support robot designed to combat isolation, anxiety, and depression was shown at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada by Mixi Inc., who introduced their latest Romi Lacatan model. Scott Paik, a Mixi representative interviewed by Reuters, said that unlike traditional conversational AI, Romi’s in-house-developed technology ensures it provides genuine empathy and natural conversation.
