The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) shared dash cam video of a semi truck sideswiping a disabled truck along the shoulder of the interstate as a reminder of what happens when you fail to pay attention to the road.

The video was captured around 2:15 p.m. on January 6 on I-40 near Country Club Road in El Reno.

OHP Trooper Kelby Peoples was driving right behind as a semi collided with a second truck disabled on the shoulder of I-40.

“This is a very graphic reminder to give your full attention to the road while driving. This crash could have been deadly, but amazingly, there were no injuries. The driver told Trooper Peoples that he had reached down to grab his water bottle,” OHP said.
