Baptists and Baby Dedications

Baby dedications are not practiced in Scripture. So, why then do we who base all we do off of Scripture, do them? Is it just because our enemies or erroneous brethren practice various types of infant baptisms? Some say so. I say no. We perform these ceremonies, not as ordinances of the Christian Faith, certainly not as required for anyone’s salvation, but based on other solid biblical principles. I’ll take a short period of time to give some explanation behind why we as Baptists do baby dedications.
