The DARK Side of RFK Jr., Ep. 3: Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out

Meet President-elect Trump's controversial pick to run the Department of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.

#RFKJR is visiting with key Senators right now who will decide his fate in this month's cabinet confirmation hearings.

My latest episode of the History Book Club series, "The Dark Side of RFK Jr." picks up where Episode 2 left off: the aftermath of his father's murder by Sirhan Sirhan on June 5, 1968.
At the impressionable age of 14, young Bobby Kennedy Jr. was harshly rejected and disowned by his angry, traumatized mother Ethel #Kennedy, and shuttled off to a boarding school for rich problem children known as Milbrook.

It was at Milbrook that Bobby -- like so many young men of his generation -- fell under the influence of LSD guru Timothy Leary, who taught him to "turn on, tune in, drop out."

Bobby must have taken Leary's advice literally. He dropped out of Milbrook, as well as two other schools, before finally getting his high school diploma.

Over the weeks ahead, we will be reading and discussing excerpted chapters from "Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the Dark Side of the Dream," an unauthorized #biography of RFK Jr. written by Jerry Oppenheimer. The author also penned a scathing biography of RFK's late mother, Ethel Kennedy, who passed away in October 2024 at age 96.

As Kennedy's Senate confirmation hearings near, get a sneak preview of some tough questions Kennedy is likely to be asked, and will have to answer in the televised hearings.
