Los Angeles Mayor doesn't give a reassuring answer to preparedness question

To everyone worried about me, I'm okay and my mom and cats are okay too. My neighborhood was without power for 3 days. This has never happened in my entire lifetime living in Los Angeles County. We've been without power for a few hours in the past. But NEVER 3 DAYS. I can't imagine living through the rolling blackouts South Africa experiences. What a nightmare that must be.

Our power was restored 1/10 Friday morning.

The latest news is the Palisades fire is creeping over the hills towards Encino near the 405 and 101. They are evacuating that area south of Ventura Blvd right now.

I'm hearing for the first time in this video they are expecting high winds again early next week and these fires are not contained yet and moving quickly into the San Fernando Valley area?!

The winds we had were cyclonic winds. It felt like the roof was going to come off. I don't remember ever having this kind of powerful winds in Los Angeles County. This wind is not the typical "Santa Ana winds".
