A JACKASS FALSE PROPHET AND A DONKEY
2 Peter 2:15-16 New King James Version
15 They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; 16 but he was rebuked for his iniquity: a dumb donkey speaking with a man’s voice restrained the madness of the prophet.
GOOD EVENING IN YESHUA MY DEAR ONES!!!
I want to do something a little different with this morning's devotions, because yes while I agree on the importance of sincere obedience to God, and to not only obey him from the heart, but I believe we need to examine our motives and what we do for Him. Balaam here is the perfect example of somebody who was a greedy, opportunistic grifter, who wanted the reward, while still thinking he could outwardly obey God. God knew his motives as he travelled with the representatives of Moab, and that was why God gave Balaam the wake up call he needed.
Tonight, my friends, I'd like to share some things I learned about this Pagan prophet, and his real motivation for doing what he did, through this vlog I'd like to share with all of you tonight, and i pray that you see just how important it is to not just simply obey God on the outside, but to obey God with your whole heart. So, what I want to do guys come is share a story of a jack-a@@ed false prophet, and his donkey, and how God used that donkey to give that false prophet a wakeup call to true obedience to Him. Come join me in this vlog tonight my friends and see this precious truth for yourself! 😊
So, my friends, as I close this post with all of you tonight, I want to leave you with these questions from this morning’s devotional, and they pray that they will challenge your heart as they are challenging mine.
In what area do you give the appearance of obedience without the inward intention?
How might God be calling your attention to that?
I pray tonight, that you deeply think about what I've said in this vlog, as well as what you have read out of this morning scripture and ask God to examine your heart for any areas in your life where you are putting on the outward appearance of obedience, without inward intention, and repent of it! Ask God to examine your heart, your motives, for the things that you do for him, and if they're not right motives, confess them, repent of them, and forsake them! Please take the advice of Kirsten Holmberg this morning's devotional writer, when she says ““May we heed the instructions God gives us in the pages of the Bible, through the Holy Spirit’s guidance, and in the wise counsel of others—not just outwardly, but inwardly, too.”
