Wario Land: Shake It! Playthrough - Ratl Ruins (Part 1)
This is part 1 of my 100% playthrough of Wario Land: Shake It! for the Wii. This was recorded directly from my Wii (not the Wii U).
I've been a Wario Land fan ever since I received Super Mario Land 3 for my Game Boy back around 1994. However, even though I continually kept my eye on the series and later received Wario World for the GameCube around 2003, I did not pick up Wario Land 2, 3 and 4 when they originally came out, and instead only started acquiring those titles beginning around 2009 as I filled out my video game collection. But I did pick up Wario Land: Shake It! around the time it was released.
As some people may recall, Nintendo released a string of big titles for the Wii in the first half of 2008, including Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart Wii and Wii Fit. However, the second half of the year felt rather lackluster by comparison. Although Nintendo later released Animal Crossing, Wii Music and Wario Land: Shake It! for the 2008 holiday season, only Wario Land interested me.
As a result, Wario Land ended up being the only Wii game that I received for Christmas of 2008. This wasn't too bad since Wario Land ended up being quite fun. I probably completed the game within a few weeks, but I don't recall if I got a 100% completion rating during that initial playthrough.
I do like the hand-drawn art style in this game, and the music is pretty good overall. However, I have mixed feelings about the missions since they force me to complete each level a certain way in order to achieve a 100% rating. But I do enjoy the level designs quite a bit.
I picked up the official strategy guide for this game back in 2008, so I'll be relying on that to once again obtain a 100% rating. Certain levels have to be beaten more than once in order to complete all of the missions and obtain all of the treasures, so you'll see certain levels being repeated during this playthrough.
Since I'm getting a 100% rating, you can treat this playthrough as a walkthrough or guide if you prefer. I did not complete these levels in a single session. I simply edited together my successful runs of each level into a single video.
In this first part I created a new save file and started Area 1: Ratl Ruins.
