Genesis Chapter 39 tells the story of Joseph after his brothers sell him into slavery. Joseph is an honorable man who, even in the worst of circumstances, tries to do the right thing and this chapter follows Joseph’s rise to head slave and his downfall and imprisonment due to a lie which proves doing the right thing will not always impress the world but faith and obedience to God are key. God's love for Joseph was steadfast, even though he was mistreated by the world but this chapter illustrates that the harmful consequences of sin should motivate people to stop committing them.
