Genesis Chapters 39 and 40 Explanation

Genesis Chapter 39 tells the story of Joseph as a slave but there is good news for Joseph: the Lord has shown mercy towards Joseph. The chapter shows the consequences of sin or how sin can have harmful consequences, and how a person should be motivated to stop committing sin but it also illustrates the importance for the desire to please God even through times of hardship and suffering. Joseph’s story to this point illustrates really low lows and really high highs but God was there through them all. This is the chpter famously known for Potiphar’s wife, Zuleika. Genesis Chapter 40 features Joseph interpreting the dreams of two of Pharaoh's servants who were imprisoned, and how the dreams foretold their fates and while it may have took a while, Joseph’s deeds would spread throughout the land.
