FIRED UP! was written for my band students with the purpose of providing them with a “fun” song to play in the stands at football and basketball games as well as band concerts. Once the low brass and low woodwinds learn the first four measures of FIRED UP!, they should have no problem with the rest of the song. Careful attention to the dynamics and articulations will really make FIRED UP! an enjoyable musical experience for both the performer and listener.

It is my hope that FIRED UP! will provide students with a song that they will enjoy learning to play and provide other music educators with a teaching tool that can be used to motivate and encourage their students.
