We implore you to understand the dangers of school vouchers and the future implications for our state.

Did you know that the current voucher pilot program is already funding an Islamic school in Memphis with your tax dollars? The Governor’s school choice bill would now expand that capacity to all 95 counties.

Proponents of the Governor’s bill say that strings are not attached and that regulations will not follow this money. Yet, Senator Adam Lowe just filed Senate Bill 122, which implicitly states that homeschoolers could be subject to increased regulations and requirements by the state Department of Education if they choose to accept state funding.

Vouchers are wealth distribution. Vouchers are government funds that come with additional regulatory oversight. Vouchers are dangerous for home schools and private education.
