BECAUSE JESUS DESTROYED THE CURSE OF SIN AND DEATH-WHERE DO BAD THINGS COME FROM?

Too many people in the church believe that bad things happen to you because God sent it your way. I've been asked the question more than I like to remember: why did God kill my mother? Or if God is so strong and wonderful. Why did I get sick or have that car wreck? 
To answer some of these misconceptions, let's briefly review where sin and death came from. Before we do that, let's go back to the beginning and be reminded in Genesis 1:26 that we are made in God's image.
To understand how we are made, take a snapshot of our understanding of God or Father. First of all,
 God is total love. Every part of his desire for us exhibits nothing but a father's love for his children. Romans 8 clearly tells us that because God is love, he is not out to destroy us in any form.
We are instructed in the New Testament that it is Satan who has the plans to kill, steal, and destroy, not God, our Father.
There is another noticeable attribute that God has, one he has passed on to us, and that is we have the ability to make choices by our self-will. God has made us this way because love does not work without the ability to choose. That is the description of self-will.
To answer the question of where your bad things come from. We live in a sinful world, but God has given us the ability to resist the devil, and he will flee.
He has given us the ability to reject the lies of the devil and choose the truth of the Word of God. We are reminded that death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who love it actually eat the fruit thereof.
Both death and life. The choice is always ours.
So let's stand up and be counted as one who has the ability to love beyond measure and be the ones who let our mouths speak, praise, and confess who we are in Christ.
