In the 1960's and 70's Erik Hammerum operated a health food store in North Vancouver. There he met Andrew Natrall (Kapelklh) and Chief Louis Miranda (Sxaaltxw) elders of the Squamish tribe, who, over time, taught him about the culture and history of indigenous people in Xwáýxway, the area now called Stanley Park.
Currently the City of Vancouver and the Vancouver Park Board are logging vast areas of Stanley Park. To learn more: https://savestanleypark.ca
