DUC: From Solitary to Scandal - Exposing the Brutal Truths of Power and Corruption in Minnesota
Welcome back to Da Urban Conservative, the only podcast where we cut through the fluff and give you the raw, unfiltered truth. Today, we’re diving deep into two topics that might seem worlds apart but are part of the same broken system: the brutality of solitary confinement and the political circus happening right here in Minnesota. Strap in—it’s about to get real.
Segment 1:
The Hole—Solitary Confinement and Its Impact
Let’s start with the reality of solitary confinement—‘the hole,’ as it’s called on the inside. Studies have shown that more than 14 days in solitary is considered torture. Let me say that again for the folks in the back: torture. Prolonged isolation doesn’t rehabilitate anyone; it only breaks people down, destroys mental health, and leaves scars that don’t heal.
Now, imagine not 14 days, but six months. That was my reality inside the Minnesota Department of Corrections at Oak Park Heights. Six months of isolation. I had a single cell for half that time and no mattress. Think about that—no mattress. The only items I was allowed to have were a roll of toilet paper, a Bible, and a tiny toothbrush.
That’s where I met Yeshua—Jesus. And trust me, when you’re in the hole, He’s about the only one who shows up for you. The conditions? They weren’t just rough—they were inhumane. But here’s the kicker: does putting people in the hole actually stop crime? Does it make our streets safer? Absolutely not. Solitary confinement is a band-aid on a bullet wound, a lazy solution to deeper systemic problems.
If anything, it’s making things worse. The system isn’t designed to rehabilitate; it’s designed to punish and profit. And while the suits in power claim they’re working to fix things, the reality on the ground tells a different story.
Segment 2:
Minnesota’s Political Crisis—Fraud, Lies, and Distraction
Now, let’s shift gears. While people like me are trying to heal from what the system put us through, the folks running the show in Minnesota seem more focused on their own power plays than fixing the mess they’ve created.
On day one of the legislative session, Minnesota looks like it’s in a full-blown constitutional crisis. Democrats and Republicans are at each other’s throats over who has the quorum, or majority, in the Minnesota House of Representatives. You’d think they’d be focused on issues like the DOC, mental health, or even fixing the potholes in our streets. But no—it’s all about power.
And here’s where it gets shady: the Democrats didn’t show up for work. Let me repeat that—the party caught lying and cheating didn’t even bother to clock in. Meanwhile, the local media? Silent. Of course, they’re too busy running defense for the establishment.
But here’s the real scandal. The Republicans want to form a bipartisan fraud committee to investigate Governor Walz and the Department of Human Services (DHS) for the massive fraud scandals that gave millions of taxpayer dollars to crooks. And instead of transparency, the Democrats are trying to block it.
Let me break it down: millions of dollars meant to help our communities were stolen. Stolen. Money that could’ve gone to housing, schools, or mental health services was handed over to people who destroyed our country from the inside out. And the people in charge? They don’t want you to know about it. They’d rather keep playing their games while Minnesotans suffer.
Segment 3:
Connecting the Dots—What This Means for Us
So, what do these two issues have in common? Solitary confinement and political corruption are symptoms of the same disease—a system built to dehumanize, distract, and destroy. Whether it’s locking people in a cell with no mattress or stealing money meant for our communities, the people in power have shown us one thing: they don’t care.
The question is, what are we going to do about it? Are we going to keep letting them divide us, or are we going to demand better? It starts with holding these politicians accountable—whether they’re Democrats, Republicans, or whatever label they’re wearing today. And it continues with us standing up for the people the system tries to silence, whether they’re in the hole or in our neighborhoods.
This is about more than politics; it’s about humanity. It’s about justice. And if they won’t fight for it, we will.
That’s it for today’s episode of Da Urban Conservative. Don’t forget to hit us up on social media and share your thoughts. We want to hear from you—your stories, your struggles, your truth. Together, we can break the silence and take back the power.
Until next time, stay woke, stay strong, and stay fighting. Peace.
