There was a time in my life when I could recite all the Presidents of the United States in order. Maybe I can do that today, although I might struggle with maybe number 8 (Van Buren) to maybe number 20, (Garfield, not the cat). It's the ones in between the notable characters that slip the mind. How many of those suckers died in office, whether by an assassins bullet, incompetent medical care or both? There were two from Pennsylvania, (my home state). Neither of them were very notable. Very few will remember 46, 46 years from now. Amazingly he's the first Joe, to hold the office. Franks, Georges, Williams, James'. Zack, Jack & Ba'rack. Only one Joe. But only one Don, too. Number 15 was reputed to be a homosexual because he never married. Number 44 is also rumored to be a homosexual, although he's a married father of two.

On Monday American will have 47 Presidents in its history, but only 45 men have held the post. Yeah, all men.

Since the 1980 election of "Bedtime for Bonzo" star, Ronald Reagan, presidential administrations have looked to me like blockbuster movies. It was as if with Reagan, Hollywood took over the casting duties for the lead role of Commander & Chief. Candidates had to be tall, white, (or white-ish), handsome by Hollywood standards, a good orator (there was some wiggle room however with the Bushes) and related to Godfrey de Bouillon (allegedly).

Today we run down the Presidents of the United States (1980-present) and their associated "starring" roles in the long running series, "Empire of Mayhem."
