Lookout Point Loop: Wind Cave National Park

Our journey through South Dakota continues in Wind Cave National Park. We chose a short, but wonderful loop trail for an overnight camp. Along the way, we had unforgettable encounters with the park’s wildlife—majestic grazing bison and playful prairie dogs darting in and out of their burrows. This is South Dakota backpacking done right.
