APPRECIATING THOSE WHO BEAR FRUIT IN “OLD AGE”

31 The silver-haired head is a crown of glory,
If it is found in the way of righteousness.

GOOD EVENING IN YESHUA DEAR FRIENDS!!!
I truly found this morning scripture interesting, as well as a bit convicting, because I often wonder if I am appreciating those who are still serving God, being fruitful in their “old age”. I wonder if I am choosing to seek out the wisdom, insight, and experiences of older adults that God puts in my path, because I know they have a lot to offer, and I don't want to miss out on it. Like John Blasé, this morning's devotional writer said so well, “We live in a world that worships and rewards youth—the young and solid, unscarred and efficient. Yet the Bible clearly tells us of a righteous beauty that comes from the older and weaker, maybe even the cracked and leaky.” Problem is, we often ignore the wisdom and insights that older adults offer us, because we're too stubborn to listen.

Tonight, my friends, I'd like to share some things that God showed me out of this morning scripture, as well as other very interesting verses of scripture on this very issue, through this vlog I'd like to share with all of you tonight, and I pray that what I share, helps encourage you to take time to look out for the silver haired ones, the ones that have been “been around the block” a few times, the cracked, leaky, and old. So, my friends, as I close this post with all of you tonight, I want to leave you with these questions from this morning's devotional, and I pray that they not only get you to thinking about this important issue, but to help you realize how important the older adults in your lives are.

How can you serve the older adults on your path?

What will you do today to see and appreciate them?

I pray that you truly see how valued, important, and vital, those who are older than you are, and that when they offer you advice, listen! Compare what they are saying to God's word, and if it lines up with God's word do it. If it doesn't, you obey God, and just leave the rest to Him. Don't ignore the wonderful wisdom that the grey headed, silver haired, more seasoned adults out there have to offer, because many of them actually have legit wisdom to offer. Don't cast somebody aside, because of their age, and that you think they're too old, frail, or incompetent to make a difference. Remember what James said so very well, in that “Older adults in our lives continue to bear beautiful fruit. Let's take the time to see it and care for them.”
