Revelation 7:1 describes the four angels holding the four winds of the earth, preventing the wind from blowing on the earth, sea, and trees. Another angel, with the seal of the living God, cried out to the angels, saying that they should not hurt the earth, sea, or trees until the servants of God were sealed in their foreheads. The number of sealed individuals was 104,4 thousand from all the tribes of Israel. A great multitude of people from all nations and tongues stood before the throne and the Lamb, clothed in white robes and palms, and cried out in praise of God. The angels worshipped God, saying, Amen: Blessing, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honor, power, and might be unto our God for ever and ever.

The chapter starts with the restraint put upon the winds, which could be the errors and corruptions in religion that would be trouble and mischief to the church of God. The Holy Ghost is sometimes compared to the wind, as seen in John 3:1.
