A Drive-by of Camp Naco, border fort during the Mexican Revolution

Camp Naco was one of 35 camps built after 1910 to protect the border during the Mexican Revolution and unsettled activity there.
Camp Naco was manned by the 9th and 10th cavalry and then the 25th Infantry known as the Buffalo soldiers.
When the camps were decommissioned in 1923, all but two were deconstructed for their materials. Camp Naco being made of adobe, was one of the two that remained.
Today the camp is being restored and is not generally open to the public. The website says the expected opening date is 2025, when that happens we will be sure to go back and check it out.
