Black Hole Binary

Binary black holes exert intense gravitational forces on each other, causing them to orbit a common center of mass while emitting gravitational waves.

These waves are ripples in spacetime caused by the acceleration of their massive bodies.

As the black holes spiral closer due to energy loss from these waves, their orbital velocity and wave emission intensify.

When they are in close proximity, their gravitational interactions distort each other's shapes and spacetime around them, forming a phenomenon known as "tidal deformation."
