The United States has reportedly purchased 81 outdated Soviet-era combat aircraft from Kazakhstan. According to the *Kyiv Post*, the total sale value was $2.26 million, with an average price of $19,300 per aircraft. The deal followed Kazakhstan's announcement to sell 117 fighter and bomber aircraft inherited from the Soviet Union. These Cold War-era planes were listed for sale in October 2023, deemed obsolete and uneconomical to repair. Kazakhstan has been steadily replacing its aging Soviet-made fleet with modern jets.
