CHAOS ERUPTS As Gaza Ceasefire Triggers Further Attacks!

Right, so violence against Palestinians meted out by Israelis has sadly not stopped in spite of the ceasefire in Gaza and whilst that ceasefire has still brought news of further Israeli atrocity in Gaza, notably in Rafah, it is not specifically that I’m alluding to, but instead we have to look at the West bank where any Palestinian will do it seems as the settler movement lash out in anger at what they see as a capitulation and a failure of Benjamin Netanyahu to achieve the goals he set out to do, to finish the job, but most importantly to them, to bulldoze the Palestinians clean out of the way, so more people like them can settle there.
Settler violence was one thing Joe Biden did censure, did clamp down on and did restrict, sanctions imposed on groups of people who are depraved to an inhuman level, who’s determination to have their way at the expense of a whole other people, for whom genocide and ethnic cleansing isn’t just justified, but ordained, but now they’ve been let off the leash. On day one of the new Trump presidency, the Cheeto dusted man baby lifted those restrictions and chaos and violence as sure as it could be predicted has escalated having already broken out in anticipation of this move and so once again Palestinian people are under assault from Israel.
Right, so Trump has made it official with an executive order lifting all restrictions on Israeli settlers in the West Bank. Violence here perpetrated by the IDF and the settlers is not new, it predates October 7th 2023 by decades, but where most of the focus has been on Gaza since that date, much of the West bank violence has been less well remarked upon, but in the West Bank, since October 7th, 860 Palestinians have been killed, including 175 children, again in typical Israeli cowardice, it is the weakest that get targeted most of all, with a further 6,700 wounded. Stat’s you’d imagine coming from a warzone, not the part of the State of Palestine not under Israeli invasion, but this is par for the course when you live under Israeli occupation. There’s a bit of context that needs adding in here though – a few days before, all Israel settlers that were in administrative detention awaiting trial for previous wrongdoing all got released. They were on trial for racist and violent crimes meted out against Palestinians in the West Bank and the demented Israeli defence minister Israel Katz released them all and chose to do so, by saying he was tying to it the release of all the Palestinian hostages he was having to release as well as part of the hostage exchange deal. All charges lifted, no trials happening and then of course we’ve seen this uptick in violence as Trump lifted sanctions, so this is state sanctioned terrorism we’re now bearing witness to.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that:
‘Lifting sanctions on extremist settlers encourages them to commit more crimes against our people.’
Understatement of the century, especially when Katz released the very worst back into those communities. When settlers have been able to torch vehicles and homes across the West Bank in the last couple of days, both leading up to and since Trump signed his stupendously stupid executive order as AL Jazeera explains in this excerpt:
‘Israeli settlers have set vehicles and properties on fire under the protection of Israeli forces while also injuring at least 21 Palestinians across the occupied West Bank.
Jalal Bashir, head of Jinasfut village council, was quoted as saying by Wafa news agency on Monday evening that the attacks took place in the villages of Jinasfut and Funduq, east of Qalqilya.
He added that dozens of Israeli settlers raided Jinasfut and set fire to three homes, a nursery and a workshop. The settlers also set several vehicles owned by Palestinian residents ablaze.
One Palestinian sustained a head injury while trying to protect his home. Several others were undergoing treatment after inhaling tear gas fired by Israeli soldiers.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said its medical teams treated those injured by the settlers in Jinsafut and Fanduq, adding that the victims suffered bruises as they were beaten by the settlers.
In the southern West Bank, Israeli settlers also stormed a Palestinian home in the Masafer Yatta area. Dozens of settlers attacked Palestinian vehicles with stones south of Hebron, damaging several of them.’
These aren’t the only reported attacks either.
The human rights monitoring organisation in Palestine, Yesh Din, who are an Israeli based non profit who have spent the last 20 years fighting for the human rights of Palestinian people in the face of Israeli settler violence and that of the IDF as Palestine has continued to receive under Israeli occupation as they are, put out on their Twitter account two videos showing Palestinian homes engulfed in flames after being torched by extremist settlers, terrorism as this blatantly is, accompanied with the caption:
‘Ceasefire? Not in the West Bank Tonight, dozens of settlers are attacking Palestinian villages across the West Bank. In the village of Sinjil – Settlers set fire to two homes and at least four vehicles. In the village of Ein Siniya – Settlers attacked and set fire to homes. In Turmusaya – Dozens of settlers attacked and caused damage to property. On Route 60 near a-Lubban a-Sharqiyah – Settlers hurled stones at vehicles.’
One revealed two homes and four vehicles on fire in the village of Sinjil, to the northeast of Ramallah and the other took place in Ein Siniya village north of Ramallah where more homes were torched.
Of course Trump’s move has been warmly welcomed by the settlers and those who represent them:
‘Yossi Dagan, head of the Northern West Bank Settlements Council, said the reversal of the “scandalous sanctions” was “a political message that the United States has returned to being our friend,” according to Israeli media.
“This is a righting of an injustice of many years, in which distorted policies were pursued by the American administration and also by local elements who confused lovers with enemies,” Itamar Ben-Gvir, the far-right former national security minister said on X.
His ally, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, said Trump’s stand shows his “deep connection to the Jewish people and our historic right to our land”.
“These sanctions were a serious act of blatant foreign interference in the internal affairs of the state of Israel and harmed the principles of democracy and the mutual relationship between the two friendly countries,” he said.’
The US had stopped being your friend, well I’m sure US citizens dumbfounded by the amount of financial and military aid Biden sent to Israel will be delighted to hear how ungrateful you have been! Especially those who have endured floods or wildfires where there was no cash available to help because it was all going to you and your genocidal apartheid government!
And of course there were the warm words of those representatives of the settler movement, extremist Israeli politicians for an extremist bunch of depraved individuals as we heard warm praise for Trump from Itamar Ben Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich.
Of course there are those who have been meting out further attacks who are not just taking advantage of the lifting of sanctions upon them, but anger at the Netanyahu government for having failed as they see it in their supposed war against Hamas, which was in reality a genocide against the people of Gaza more than taking on Hamas and certainly if Israel’s goals were to be achieved and Netanyahu is still saying he intends to achieve all of his goals, then the biggest problem he has, is he’s demonstrably done the complete opposite.
Rescue the hostages and end Hamas was always supposedly the aim. Instead Hamas are stronger than ever and as for releasing all the hostages, well that depends on how long the ceasefire lasts, because if anyone will end up collapsing it, it won’t be the people of Gaza doing that, it won’t be Hamas doing that, the hostages were taken in order to get more prisoner exchanges, though truthfully those prisoners are as much hostages of Israel as those people Hamas took are hostages in Gaza. Israelis will view that as Hamas having got their own way, never mind Israel flattened Gaza before it came to be, a hostage swap is what we now see, many more Palestinians being freed than Israelis, because Israel hold so many more people.
90 Palestinians got released on Sunday, for those 3 young Israeli women, but less well broadcast was the fact that in the West Bank, on that day, Israel took another 63 Palestinian hostages. Got to restock, got to keep the dungeons full it seems.
Netanyahu’s failure and the bad press he’s getting gets redoubled though, when even those as cruel and inhumane as he is as these settlers are, puts the boot into him too as retired General Giora Eiland, the architect of the so called General’s Plan has said too in a statement:
‘In a striking admission during a press conference broadcast on Channel 12, Maj. Gen. (res). Giora Eiland confessed that Israel lost the war in Gaza and failed to achieve its strategic objectives. Eiland, the architect of the brutal 'Generals' Plan,' acknowledged that Hamas not only survived Israel's campaign but emerged stronger, solidifying its control over Gaza. He described the outcome as a "resounding failure" for Israel and added that there will be no renewal of the war.
The 'Generals' Plan,' which is said to have been devised to dismantle Hamas’s power, relied on inhumane measures: starving Gaza’s population, exterminating resistance, and forcibly displacing civilians from northern Gaza to isolate resistance fighters. This ruthless "surrender or starve" approach turned mass suffering into a weapon of war. However, Eiland admitted that the plan disastrously backfired, with Israel unable to prevent Hamas from regrouping and rearming under the terms of the ceasefire.
Eiland also pointed to critical strategic missteps made months before the war, suggesting that these decisions doomed Israel’s efforts from the outset.’
Can anyone see Netanyahu from here, he’s been thrown so far under the bus he’s no longer visible! I do love when rancid, appalling, hard right figures turn on each other like this, it really is time to grab that popcorn bucket, but where Eiland is most definitely wrong is where he says there will be no renewal of the war. Netanyahu already has Trump’s assent, it’ll start again maybe in a few days, maybe in a few weeks, but he can’t afford to not start again, but in the meantime, genocidal Israelis who see Palestinians as less than human, will get their fix thanks to Trump lifting sanctions upon them and I fear settler violence is going to become a bigger issue and one we have to make sure we highlight as the media inevitably ignore it.
Meanwhile of course even as the ceasefire came into effect on Sunday, Netanyahu changed the deal again, this time not wrecking it entirely, though he absolutely tried, again reinforcing why this ceasefire can’t ever be permanent, he’d rather there wasn’t one at all. Get all the details of that stunt in this video recommendation here as your suggested next watch, please do also hit like, share and subscribe to the channel too so you don’t miss new daily content and help support the channel which is massively appreciated of course and I’ll hopefully catch you on the next vid. Cheers folks.
