November 15th 1978 🇳🇬 🇪🇹 Mengistu Haile Mariam Hosted by Lt. Gen. Obasanjo In Nigeria

Ethiopian Head of State Lt. Colonel Mengistu Haile Mariam arriving in Lagos, Nigeria for a three-day state visit. He was met on his arrival to Lagos Airport by his Nigerian counterpart Lt. General Olusegun Obasanjo.

On the second day of his visit Lt. Colonel Mengistu made a sight-seeing tour of Lagos, then the capital city of Nigeria. His first call was at the Cenotaph in the Tafawa Balewa square, where he laid a wreath on the tomb of the unknown warrior commemorating Nigeria's war dead.
