First Time in JAKARTA! First Day in INDONESIA

This was my first day around the city of Jakarta Indonesia, of course I had to start off by getting some local food, in which the seafood was amazing to say the least. The streets are quite different from those in America, now there was some heavy traffic but it's expected from a large city. I was able to experience the difference side by side in religion by visiting a church and later a mosque. Taking the subway at night showed me how alive the city is, so many people on the streets working or simply enjoying the night. A place I would totally recommend for someone wanting to experience a different culture from their own.

Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia, has a rich and complex history shaped by centuries of trade, colonization, and cultural transformation. Originally a small port town known as Sunda Kelapa, Jakarta was an important trading hub for the Hindu kingdom of Sunda in the 14th century. Following independence, Jakarta became the political, economic, and cultural heart of the new nation. Today, the city is a dynamic, modern metropolis, blending its colonial past with rapid urbanization, and remains a symbol of Indonesia’s growth and diversity.
