01.19.25 "Not On My Watch"

There is an old expression that I am fond of. It is, "Not on my watch." I don't know where it originated, but it appears military in origin. It means that something, usually something "bad," will NOT happen while you are on watch duty, or guard duty. You will make sure that it does not happen. "Not on my watch." I have occasionally been guided to say this when talking to members of our community who were talking about the possibility of a tragic collapse of civilization – societal armageddon. Many people think this is a real possibility. Actually, many think it is a probability, and quite a few think it is imminent. Some people think it actually has to happen so we can rebuild a better civilization upon the ashes of the old. These people actually want it to happen.

God bless all people, and I do believe people should do whatever they are guided by Spirit to do. Please hear that and it this conversation upsets you, you have my permission to stop reading now. However I do not intend to let the world fall into that kind of chaos. Not while I am watching; not while I am on guard duty. And the world is not outside me. The world is me. "Nothing around you but is part of you. Look on it lovingly, and see the light of Heaven in it." (OrEd.Tx.23.6) I have control of what happens to me, and the world is ME.

This is the broadening of our perspective on the world that every Miracle Healer needs to have.

I remember being quite startled the first time I told someone this, that I was not going to allow the apocalypse to happen. "Not on my watch." I was startled because I had never used this expression before. In fact – I had never even told it to myself prior to that moment, so it wasn't anything rehearsed. I just received those four words from the Holy Spirit in that instant when I had turned within for guidance, as I do when I identify a teaching moment.

I certainly was NOT going to expend any of my energy preparing for a coming apocalypse. "If you let your mind ... make plans against uncertainties to come, you have again misplaced yourself, and made a bodily identity which will attack the body, for the mind is sick." (OrEd.WkBk.136.21) That tragic "uncertainty" was not going to get much of my attention. I intend heal any coming apocalypse before it happens.

There is a limit on how much "miscreation" we can manifest. "Free will can temporize and is capable of enormous procrastination. But it cannot depart entirely from its Creator, Who set the limits on its ability to miscreate by virtue of its own real purpose." (OrEd.Tx.2.47) The collapse of civilization is NOT going to happen while I have the job of keeping track of the world. It is not my will for it to happen. There are limits on how much miscreation we are allowed, and that certainly is over my limit.

I understand my function. I am on "guard duty." "Not on my watch." Won't you watch with me? Join me. "Watch with me, angels; watch with me today. Let all God's holy thoughts surround me and be still with me" (OrEd.WkBk.303.1) Be an angel on guard duty with me today and every day going forward.
