I train at 10th Planet Colorado Springs and am 40 years old. The tournament brackets are based on 50 lb weight classes, so I cut 8 lbs to make 146 for this event. Not bad for a 40-year-old battling athletes half my age! One of the competitors was 17, and I joked that I have a tattoo older than him—one that’s been to combat twice! LOL. A friend made that joke.

The most memorable part of this match? My pants fell down mid-roll! 😂 I ended up tying for 5th place despite the wardrobe malfunction. Watch the full match to see how it all went down!
