This game has banner ads.
One can pay real world cash to gain extra clues, extra in game currency, removal of some time-gated content and the usual supporting the developers. The normal stuff.

The topic of crime and who commits crime is a touchy subject, with topics of profiling and prejudices being difficult. However, this game does not touch on this subject and tries to avoid being controversial in any way.

Fun is a relative term. That said, the game is enjoyable.
Challenging is a relative term. That said, the game has a nice pace.
Since this game is a level-based, there is no grind to speak of - just puzzles to solve.

~~~~~ What are the pros and cons of Clue Master? ~~~~~

Pros:
A good logic game.
Clues "disappear" when they have been used. No reading of clues which no longer apply.
An appropriate game for children to play.
A game that children can play - probably 8+.
Has a mini-game.
Bug free game.

Cons:
No soothing background music. No music at all.
No way to resize the clue to make them easier to read. Will frustrate those who need reading assistance.
Advertisements after every level.

Bottom Line:
This is a good game. If you want to try a different style of game or want a game that children can play, this would be worth adding to the collection.
