ANTHONY MACKIE Immediately Backpedals Remarks About CAPTAIN AMERICA

Captain America: Brave New World star Anthony Mackie made some disparaging remarks during a press event for the new Marvel movie and immediately released a statement to clarify.

The latest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, MCU, already has some work cut out for it to make a profit and now the star has seemed to have stepped in it by saying Captain America has positive qualities that shouldn’t be associated with America. Naturally this drew a lot of criticism online; from mockery to anger. Evidentially the blowback was severe enough for Mackie to make another statement trying to clear up what he previously said. It’s unknown how much this will affect the film at the box office, but it seems obvious Mackie and Marvel Studios were concerned enough to address it.
