Squid Game season 2 set up the return of some major characters from the first season, and now Squid Game season 3 needs to resolve the story by bringing them back. Squid Game is one of the biggest shows on Netflix of all time. The series debuted in 2021, and despite being an original South Korean production, the show became a global sensation that got fans around the world talking about the intense cruelty and absurd nature of these games which forced adults to play children's games with a fatal twist.

The show had a compelling arc as Gi-hun made his way through each round, seeing hundreds of other contestants gunned down, exterminated, and kicked from the games. However, as the series progressed, it became clear that the pink guards were not the only villains.
