Tragic Midair Collision Over Washington DC River Today

On Wednesday night, an American Airlines regional jet, Flight 5342 from Wichita, Kansas, collided midair with a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter over the Potomac River near Washington, D.C.'s Reagan National Airport. The jet was carrying 60 passengers and four crew members, while the helicopter had three soldiers on board. Tragically, there are no expected survivors; by Thursday morning, 28 bodies had been recovered.
