The Police have failed Australians—plain and simple. Their inaction after October 7th, when pro-Hamas demonstrations erupted in Sydney, set a dangerous precedent. Instead of immediately shutting down these rallies—where open support for a terrorist organization was on full display—they let them continue, unchecked. And now? These demonstrations have become a weekly spectacle, emboldening extremists and normalizing an ideology that has no place in Australia.
Hamas is a terrorist group, recognized as such by our own government. Yet, we’ve seen chants of 'From the river to the sea' echoing through the streets, a blatant call for the eradication of Israel—all under the watchful eye of NSW Police, who chose to do nothing. When Australians gathered to protest against COVID lockdowns or voice concerns about their freedoms, they were met with swift and brutal crackdowns. But when extremists flood the streets with Hamas flags, openly celebrating acts of terror, suddenly, the authorities are nowhere to be found.
This failure has direct consequences. By allowing these protests to persist, NSW Police have contributed to the radicalization of our streets, fuelling tensions and dividing communities. They’ve signalled that Australia is a place where terrorist sympathizers can march freely, while everyday citizens who dare to oppose them are vilified.
Enough is enough. Australians deserve law and order, not a double standard that favours extremists. The police must act, enforce the law impartially, and put an end to this disgraceful tolerance of pro-Hamas demonstrations. Every week they allow this to continue, they fail us again.
