Smith’s leadership dealing with imminent tariff war

With Nigel Hannaford away this week, Jen Hodgson hosts a special edition of The Hannaford Show, featuring Alberta Senator-elect Erika Barootes.

Erika is the Department Head of the Applied Politics and Public Affairs Specialist program at Makami College.

She formerly served as the Principal Secretary to Premier Danielle Smith and was the Alberta government Director Of Issues Management and Campaign Operations.

Erika is also the Founding President of the United Conservative Party of Alberta and co-hosts The Discourse podcast.

Jen and Erika discuss the college's applied politics program, and how it offers students an avenue to pursue focused, hands-on experience in the political world.

They also analyze Smith’s leadership in dealing with President Donald Trump's 25% tariffs and the Alberta COVID-19 Pandemic Data Review Task Force final report, which was released last Friday.
