What Is A Conestoga Trailer?

Episode 13 of Tuesdays With T-U is all about Conestoga Trailers.

You've seen them on the road, but do you know what a Conestoga trailer is? Conestoga trailers are typically flatbed or step deck trailers with a rolling tarp system that covers the deck. The benefit is that the freight is protected from the elements without a tarp physically touching the cargo. The downside is this setup reduces the width and height of freight that can be loaded onto the trailer deck by a couple inches.
