In "S.A.M.," Asuka Kasen and Maria Latore are torturing Miguel when they reveal a plan to stop a plane carrying Catalina's poison. Claude is tasked with shooting down the plane before it reaches Francis International Airport. He must do this by getting a boat to the runway-light buoys, shooting the plane as it approaches, and then collecting the cargo from the wreckage. The mission involves taking down the plane and securing the dangerous cargo. Upon completing the mission, Claude finds Miguel and Asuka Kasen dead at the top of a construction site. He retrieves a ransom letter from Catalina, which is pinned to a pole Miguel's body is impaled on. The letter reveals that Catalina has kidnapped Maria Latore and demands $500,000 for her safe return. The mission sets the stage for Claude to rescue Maria.
