PORT CITY BURNING! Vagrant arsonists go unchecked in Stockton California

STOCKTON California 1/30/2025: PORT CITY IS BURNING DOWN. Last night’s bum fire on Wilson Way next to an ice cream shop. Reports indicate a vagrant who has been camped out there and starting fires for months on end is responsible. This person has also tried to set up at another nearby business and was chased off after starting multiple fires in their garbage bins. Yet after all of this no one has been arrested, no one charged with arson. And why not? The fact that individuals are not being arrested or charged with arson, despite clear evidence of their dangerous behavior, is unacceptable. And if you call 911 to report such arson you will be asked “is it a cooking fire or a warming fire?”... For reals? This is where we have arrived at in dealing with a sub-human violent meth/fenty fueled population who will not stop until they’ve burned every last business to the ground.
The fact that a vagrant has been allowed to repeatedly start fires, endangering lives and destroying businesses, without any consequences is outrageous. Another fire was reported this week in the alleyway behind Kiki’s Chicken, that businesses are being victimized and the community is at risk is disgraceful. The lack of action from law enforcement is unacceptable and sends the message that this behavior is permissible.
And on a related note, while city leaders are dealing with smoke-shop-psychois this week the real smoke in town is about as subtle as a garlic sandwich as today Caltrans is out on hwy 4 & the 5 patching up the mess made by the tunnel diggers while the bums by the Wilson Way underpass are still starting fires.
Businesses and residents should not have to live in fear of their property being destroyed by individuals who refuse to follow the law. The safety and well-being of our community should be the top priority, and it is clear that our current system is failing in that regard. There needs to be accountability and swift action taken by law enforcement to address this issue. It is not acceptable to simply ask if a fire is for cooking or warming when it’s clear that these fires are intentional and destructive. Call it what it is: ARSON!
