- ½ tsp **coriander powder**
- ¼ tsp **asafoetida (hing)** (optional)

1️⃣ **Cook the Mash Daal:**
- Wash the **moong daal** thoroughly under cold water.
- In a pot, add **water, salt, turmeric powder**, and **ginger-garlic paste** to the daal.
- Cook on medium heat until the daal is completely soft and mushy. This should take about **15-20 minutes**. Stir occasionally and add more water if needed to achieve your desired consistency.
2️⃣ **Prepare the Tadka (Tempering):**
- In a small pan, heat **ghee or oil**.

- Add **red chili powder**, **cumin powder**, **coriander powder**, and **asafoetida**. Stir quickly to avoid burning the spices.
3️⃣ **Combine the Daal and Tadka:**
- Pour the prepared **tadka** over the cooked daal and stir gently to mix.
- Let it simmer for a few minutes to allow the flavors to blend together.
4️⃣ **Garnish and Serve:**
- Garnish with **fresh coriander leaves**.
