Blizzard technical artist Kyle Hickey sparked quite the controversy after posting “Kill your local MAGA” on Facebook just one day after President Donald Trump’s inauguration, prompting some serious backlash and accusations that Activision Blizzard’s DEI-driven corporate culture fosters extremism. The post was liked by Gearbox Associate Art Director Max Davenport and it gained widespread attention after former World of Warcraft lead Mark Kern (Grummz) shared it on X, condemning Activision Blizzard President Rob Kostich’s continued push for DEI initiatives. In response to the outrage, Hickey immediately deactivated his social media accounts and personal website, while neither he nor Activision Blizzard have issued a statement.
