The devil the face of evil

The devil is a figure that epitomises evil. In many cultures and religions, there is not just one devil, but a multitude of devils in the form of demons who are subordinate to a chief devil. In religions, the devil stands for evil and is therefore the antagonist of God. The word devil comes from ancient Greek and stands for the confuser and slanderer. In Jewish thought, it is assumed that the devil does not have its own form, but that God includes the devil himself. In Christianity, the devil is seen as a fallen angel who rebelled against God and was banished from heaven to hell as punishment. In Christian tradition, the serpent also symbolises the devil, who wants to seduce the whole world. The devil has many names such as Lucifer, Satan, Beelzebub, Baphomet, Diabolos, but there are many other names for the devil. The devil is often described in different ways as half man half goat or a man with horns or a man with the head of a bull. Nowadays, the devil is also omnipresent in films and series, but also in music. Lucifer is actively worshipped in some music genres. Many people worship the devil and evil.
