John le Carré Interview (1965) The Merv Griffin Show

The interview (on 'The Merv Griffin Show' S3.E24) took place on Thuresday, October 7, 1965.

Despite the obvious huge IQ gap (60 points or thereabouts) Merv Griffin does have the grace to let John le Carré talk (not like the vile drugged-up clowns on US TV talk shows today shouting down guests to the inane screaming and fake laughing of paid audiences).

Le Carré explains the origins of his book 'The Spy That Came In From The Cold', his views on the film adaption of this, and the ideas behind his book, 'The Looking Glass War'.
