POWERING THE NATION: Unpacking the UK energy market #netzero

It was reported that on 8 January 2025 the UK came perilously close to regional power outages, or blackouts, as the National Grid struggled to meet demand that exceeded official forecasts and on a chillingly cold day with wind power close to zero. Here I discuss the delivery and pricing of energy in the UK and the challenges we face in an attempt to achieve Net Zero targets.
