Insurance is a Scam

Consider the difference between the charges for an MRI if paid in cash, or out of pocket, and what you would pay with your insurance co-payment. The negotiated payment structures are set by each insurer with criteria that we do not have access to. It seems to depend on what percentage of profit is deemed achievable by both the insurer and the deliverer of "care".
