With no way to escape, hundreds fell to the bullets, and many jumped into the well to save themselves. Over 1,000 lives were lost, and 1,500 were injured in just 10 minutes of brutality.

This event shook India to its core and ignited the flames of the freedom movement, leading to Mahatma Gandhi's Non-Cooperation Movement.
