SummerSlam 1991 took place on August 26, 1991, at Madison Square Garden in New York City. This event is best known for the tagline "A Match Made in Heaven, A Match Made in Hell", referring to both a wedding and a high-stakes tag team main event.

The show’s biggest match featured Hulk Hogan & The Ultimate Warrior defeating Sgt. Slaughter, Colonel Mustafa, and General Adnan in a handicap tag team match with Sid Justice as the special guest referee. Hogan and Warrior overcame the odds, with Hogan securing the victory after hitting Slaughter with his signature leg drop.

The event also featured Bret "The Hitman" Hart capturing the WWF Intercontinental Championship by defeating Mr. Perfect in one of the greatest matches of all time. This victory marked Hart’s rise as a top singles competitor.
