Piano Improvisation - "Turning of the Tide" (2019, April 11th @ 6:43pm)

I played & recorded this untitled, spontaneous combination of piano notes (see date in title).

Improvisation (noodling) is one of my favorite activities, tremendously calming, and a great outlet for telling musical stories or sharing feelings & emotions - because "where words fail, music speaks".

My students seem to prefer the term Piano PASTA (also known as noodling, improvisation, etc). I encourage them to make up music at the piano as their fingers, brains, and hearts lead - and guide them as they explore the music theory & technical ideas behind the process.
