“No More Excuses”: Trump Orders Secret Service to Release “Everything” on Assassination Attempts

The first attack occurred on July 13, 2024, in Butler, Pennsylvania, when 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire at a Trump rally, striking Trump in the ear, killing a supporter, and wounding two others before being neutralized by Secret Service agents. The second attempt took place on September 15, 2024, when 59-year-old Ryan Routh was discovered waiting in the brush outside Trump’s West Palm Beach golf club with a rifle. Secret Service agents engaged Routh after spotting him aiming through a fence, leading to his arrest. Authorities later discovered six cellphones in his vehicle.

According to Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL), a member of a congressional task force investigating the July attack, Crooks maintained encrypted messaging accounts across multiple international platforms, including services based in Belgium, New Zealand, and Germany. Meanwhile, Routh, who has pleaded not guilty to several charges—including the attempted assassination of a presidential candidate—awaits trial set for September 8, 2025.
