Am 12. November 2024 veröffentlichte die University of Minnesota Press das Buch „Cyberlibertarianism: The Right Wing Politics of Digital Technology“, das sich gegen Kritiker von Zensur und Massenüberwachung richtet, darunter Snowden, Greenwald und Assange.

Der Autor, David Golumbia, der auch „The politics of Bitcoin: Software as Right-Wing Extremism“ schrieb, hat zuvor mindestens 80.000 US-Dollar an direkten Zuschüssen der US-Regierung erhalten. UMN hat offenbar keinen Versuch unternommen, das Buch auf Fakten zu überprüfen, das jetzt auf den Leselisten zweier Kurse an der University of Southern California und Duke steht.
On Nov 12, 2024, the University of Minnesota Press published the book "Cyberlibertarianism: The Right Wing Politics of Digital Technology", which opposes those critical of censorship and mass surveillance, including Snowden, Greenwald and Assange.

The author, David Golumbia, who also wrote "The politics of Bitcoin: Software as Right-Wing Extremism", has previously received at least $80k in direct US government grants. UMN made no apparent attempt to fact check the book, which is now on the reading lists of two courses at the University of Southern California and Duke.
